Excellence Scholarship programme from Leiden University, Netherlands

Leiden University is one of Europe's foremost research universities. Founded in 1575, it is the oldest university in the Netherlands. Leiden University Excellence Scholarship programme (LExS)

Leiden University offers Leiden University Excellence Scholarship programme for excellent Non-EU/EEA students enrolling in a Leiden University Master's degree programme and for excellent students from all nationalities enrolling in a Master of Law Advanced Programme or MSc in International Relations and Diplomacy.

For whom?
1. Non-EU/EEA students enrolling in a Leiden University master's degree programme starting September 2015 or February 2016 (All MA, MSc and LL.M programmes as mentioned on the website Master's programmes in Leiden,  a number of programmes have a start date in September only).
2. All nationalities enrolling in the following programmes starting September 2015 or February 2016 (programmes listed below have a September start date only, with the exception of Adv. Studies in Air & Space Law):

> Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in Air & Space Law
> Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in European & International Business Law
> Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in International Tax Law
> Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in Public International Law
> Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in International Civil & Commercial Law
> Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in Law & Digital Technologies
> Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in European Tax Law
> Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in European & International Human Rights Law
> MSc in International Relations & Diplomacy


Scholarship Amount
The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship programme has 3 awards:
€ 10.000 of the tuition fee
€ 15.000 of the tuition fee
Total tuition fee minus the statutory tuition fee (also referred to as home fee)

The number and type of award of the scholarship depends on the budget available for each Faculty department. The type of award has no reflection on the students' academic level of excellence. Please be aware that the LExS is not a full scholarship.

Deadline:
> 1 February 2015 for all programmes starting in September 2015 except Law programmes.
> 1 March 2015 for all Law programmes starting in September 2015.
> 1 October 2015 for all programmes starting in February 2016

Full Masters Scholarships from University of Groningen, Netherlands

The University of Groningen has a long academic tradition extending back to 1614, which makes Groningen the oldest university in the Netherlands after Leiden. Many very talented people in a variety of disciplines have studied or worked at the university during the 390 years of its existence, including a Nobel Prize winner, the first female University student in the Netherlands and the first female lecturer, the first Dutch astronaut and the first president of the European Bank. They share their academic roots with more than 200,000 other people who have attended the University of Groningen as students, lecturers or research workers.


University of Groningen Talent Grant: Eric Bleumink Fund

University of Groningen offers scholarship,Eric Bleumink Fund, for a 1 year or 2 years Master’s degree programme which covers tuition fee, costs of international travel, subsistence, books, and health insurance.

Purposes:Master programme, Master (MSc/MA/LL.M.)
Countries of origin: click the link for list of countries eligible. Nepal included

Eligible candidates:   
Criteria for approval are: (a) academic excellence, shown by academic performance and may be confirmed by letters of recommendation from university professors; (b) contribution of candidate’s education in terms of strengthening the scientific capacity in the candidate’s home country; (c) perspectives to a long-term linkage between the home institution and the University of Groningen.

Deadline: January 15th, 2015. (opening call: October 15th, 2014)
Application: To be nominated the student needs to be (conditionally) admitted to one of the Master's programmes. Nominations will be handled by the admissions officers.

Full Master Scholarship Programme from VU University Amsterdam, Netherlands

VU University Amsterdam or VU is a university in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, founded in 1880. VU is one of two large, publicly funded research universities in the city, the other being the University of Amsterdam.VU University Amsterdam offers VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP).

VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP)
The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) offers talented prospective students the unique opportunity to pursue a degree in a selection of Master’s programmes at VU University. VU University has committed to providing approximately 1 million euro towards attracting highly motivated, excellent students.

All applications received by 1 March will be reviewed by the faculty at which the applicant will be participating in a Master’s programme. Faculties then nominate applicants to the central VUFP scholarship committee, which then awards scholarships to the most talented students. The award is based on the motivation letter, the quality of previous education and the student's academic performance therein. A scholarship offer will then be made to successful candidates.

Eligible candidates
The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) is a scholarship for strongly motivated students with excellent study results.

Eligible candidates must be able to prove their academic excellence, must be admitted to a preselected Master’s degree at VU University, do not have the Dutch nationality and have not graduated from a Dutch higher education programme.

Students following a one-year Master’s programme may not apply for the VUFP scholarship for a second year. Students already enrolled in a two-year Master’s programme who have not been awarded the VUFP scholarship in 2014/2015 are not eligible to apply for the VUFP scholarship 2015/2016.

Scholarships amounts
The VUFP scholarship covers your tuition fee, and provides for an allowance towards study and living costs (paid out in 3 installments over the year).  Please note that the scholarship does not cover all your living expenses.

There are two variations of the VUFP scholarship:
€5.000 to students  paying the tuition fee for EEA students
€15.000 to students paying the tuition fee for non-EEA students

The grant is awarded to students in their first year  of a Master’s degree programme. Only students following a 2-year Master’s programme may apply for a second year and the prerequisite for a second application is the achievement of  at least 80% of the 60 possible credits. The Faculty VUFP committee will be asked to demonstrate to the Central VUFP committee that these credits have indeed been achieved.

Application procedure
From the 1st of December, students can start applying for the VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP). Before this date, we will publish the exact application procedure, so keep an eye on this page if you're eligible. The deadline for application is set to the 1st of March 2015.
